Moments Captured in Time.

How many photos do you have of your children?

Will you keep all of them forever?

A picture says a thousand words. Brings back a memory. Shows a glimpse of the past that has been captured in time. Whether it be joyous, funny, sad, proud or insignifigant these pictures show our journey we call life and are a way of sharing our life with others.

I take alot of pictures of my kids, infact often to many, sometimes several showing the same thing and only need to keep one out of ten. What happens when the ones we keep enter the hundreds?? With todays technology it is simple - store them on a disc, hard drive or memory card. For some reason this seems to be too difficult for me to do, I use lack of time as an excuse as to why I have million photos that need organising and need to make room for new ones.

So, which ones do you keep?? I have a hard time deciding which ones to print let alone which ones to delete. More often than not we keep the photos that capture happy moments.  Why do we not keep the photos that show tantrums, frustration or anger? After all it is something that we spend so much teaching our children - to understand their emotions and deal with their anger and frustration - which sometimes leads to tantrums.

When I look at these pictures, I see beautiful little creations that look super cute even though they are screaming their little hearts out. Our children depend on us for the most part - for everything. Crying is their way of communitcating, these pictures should remind us that we are their whole world.  The majority of our photo collection shows their milestones and independence, perhaps it should also show the moments of distress or dicomfort. One day our children won't rely on us as they do now. I plan to capture the moments when they do, so in years to come I can look back and feel as needed and loved as I do now. My children are my whole world and for now I am theirs.

Life will slow down one day, but for now ...

I still haven't finished my spring cleaning , doh!
